Jan 7th Bubble News Update

SIndo: Time to get out of rental property - "Can anyone point to a single soft landing? In truth, a soft landing in the housing market is like the proverbial free lunch. There ain't no such thing. Housing markets just don't work that way." ...the stampede is about to begin!

SIndo: House price worries hit cement barons

TimesOnline: Time to get real on property prices - "Start Mortgages, which offers deals to people with poor credit histories, has brought more court proceedings to repossess houses in the past two years than AIB and Bank of Ireland combined"

SIndo: An honest politician - Senator Brian Hayes: "Today would you invest in property, shares, cash or other?
I would be extremely nervous of the housing market at the moment. Quite frankly I don't believe in "soft landings", it's a clever phrase devised by auctioneers, anxious to keep the market afloat. Internationally, property markets that increase rapidly generally come down rapidly. They don't land softly. For what it's worth, we are now very close to a major correction in the Irish property market. "
